On Wednesday, I celebrated the launch of the Washington Trails Association’s hike-a-thon by bringing a friend to my favorite trail. Meghan hasn’t been to the Redmond Watershed Preserve before and it was fun to share the trail with a someone new.

Meghan and I are ready to hike!
We didn’t have much time so we explored the Trout Loop Trail and wandered down the Trillium Trail for a bit before heading back to the parking lot. I hadn’t been on the Trout Loop Trail before and was happily surprised to see interpretive signs along the route. I even learned the names of some new plants.

I’m excited to participate in the hike-a-thon again this year, this time as a part of The Amazing Shaw Family team. We are raising money for the Washington Trails Association – a fabulous organization that promotes and preserves local area trails and our public lands.
