I am an avid hiker, traveler, and adventurer from Seattle, Washington.
I discovered backpacking in the summer of 2015. Although I went on some day hikes with my family and friends when I was younger, I never felt confident to hike on my own. I always wanted to get outdoors more, but didn’t really know where to start. Finally I got some library books, taught myself about the Ten Essentials, and hit the trail.
I went on my first solo overnighter in 2015, and then was sidelined for a while with hip surgery. In 2016, I hiked the 95-mile Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier.
In 2017, I attempted to thru-hike the 2650-mile Pacific Crest Trail. I hiked over 2/3 of the trail but had to call it quits after 1812 miles. This blog chronicles my hike on the PCT, as well as my other adventures.
What’s next? While I hope to pick up some additional miles that I missed on the PCT in 2018, I won’t have as much time for hiking this year. But I have a few other things up my sleeve. Stay tuned…
